Maybelline The Expert Wear Palette-The Nudes

Hi Angels,

Sometimes in blogging about makeup we forget about some of out drugstore heavy hitters.  One of these products is Maybelline's new release, The Nudes palette.  In the land of High end nude palettes, this was a welcome surprise.  Do we need to mention the price point?  I purchased mine for $9.99.  Let's take a look at this gem:

This is with a slight swatch.  With a primer the colors are more true to the palette shade and stay on for hours.

I was quite pleased with the color choices and ease of use.  All in all this is a good purchase. The twelve shades allow for a great deal of different looks. With mattes and shimmers all your nude bases are covered. This palette is for those of us who want the nude look without breaking the bank

LA Girl's Splurge or Steal

Hi Angels,

Social media has been abuzz about LA Girl's Glazed Lip paint.  The company touts it as a product with the appearance of a lipstick that has the ease and glossy finish of a lipgloss. The company is cruelty free so no testing on animals.  

Have we heard this before?  Have you heard of the brand OCC? AKA Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.  You don't believe me ask LAgirl. Here is a pic courtesy of the brand:

If that is not enough to impress you.  Here is another prestige brand selling the same product at an even higher price point of $21. It is Too Faced's Melted.  This is a liquified long wearing lipstick.  This pic is courtesy of Sephora.

I for one love a bargain.  I especially love it when the quality is just as good as the higher priced brand.  At this price point it is worth giving a try.

L'OREAL Paris Color Riche Collection Privee'

Hi Angels,

So I was in my neighborhood Harmon the other day.  (Love that store.  Remember you can use your Bed Bath and Beyond Coupons there).  I happened upon a small display.  It is from L'OREAL.  The name of the collection is the L'OREAL Paris Color Riche Privee'. Just the look of the casing had me intrigued. Here is a pic below courtesy of L'OREAL Paris:

The collection boasts nude lipsticks and nail polishes specially made for models and famous faces. Some of the models include Doutzen Kroes, Eva Longoria, Freida Pinto and Liya Kibede.  There was a small short made that includes all of the models.  The UK and Canada received different lipstick and nail polishes.

This is the one I purchased.  It is a purple brown duo chrome.  Not altogether nude but beautiful nonetheless.  Below is a pic if my nail polish and lipstick.

Isn't it even richer looking than their original packaging.  If you've read my reviews before you'll know that one of my biggest gripes about L'OREAL lipsticks are the smell. It is a fruity vanilla smell that interferes with my enjoying the color. Someone must have heard my cry because this lipstick doesn't have it. I just might back it up and put it in my bag for my five minute face.  You can purchase the different colors at your neighborhood Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid and Target
