New Eyeshadows from Sugarpill

Hi Angels,

I was minding my own makeup business today when I received a message in my inbox. Sugarpill, a brand we have featured before is releasing new loose eyeshadows today at 2 p.m. PST.

Here's a look at the shadows courtesy of Sugarpillcosmetics:

Do you see what I'm seeing?  Penelope and Holy Ghost are speaking to me. If these are true to Sugarpill's reputation, what you see is what you get?  I can't wait to see them in person?

What do we think Angels?  Are you interested in any of these loose shadows?  Let us know what you think and tell us about what you bought.

Until next time Angels

Sugarpill Cold Chemisty Palette Review and Swatches

Hello Angels,

I recently purchased a new palette from Sugarpill.  It is the Cold Chemistry Palette that was released on August 17th.  I believe it will become a permanent part of the line.  The shadows can also be bought individually as well.

So let's take a look at this palette.  It is shaped differently than my other Sugarpill     palettes with a smaller mirror for your eyes.  Here's a peak:

There are four cool toned eyeshadows that everyone can wear.

From left to right you have:
Soot and Stars- a charcoal gray with a teal frost finish
Diamond Eyes- a cool white shadow with a frosted finish
Elemental Chaos- a cool dark purple with a frosted finish
Subterranean- a deep green with a frosted finish

How do they look on, you ask?  LOL
The color payoff is great and true to pan. They are very pigmented and will need to be patted on to achieve lots of color.  Here are swatches on NW43 skin:

This after one swipe and no primer.  Depending on positioning they may show some iridescence.  This is always a plus!

So would I recommend it??  Absolutely!  Especially if you are a makeup user that can't see themselves incorporating the colors in the other palettes.  These are excellent lid colors and would make a welcome addition to any smoky eye.  The palette or individual shadows can be bought at Sugarpillshop.com and Beautylish.com.

Let me know what you think, especially if you decide to buy it!

Until next time Angels

Sugarpill Sweetheart Palette

Hello Angels,

In this post I will be reviewing the Sweetheart Palette from Sugarpill.  I have reviewed the other two palettes here as well. This palette has colors that Nicki Minaj would wear during her Barbiex10 days.

Here is a pic of the palette.  As is customary with Sugarpill palettes it comes in a pretty pink case with a mirror inside.

From the top, left to right we have:
Dollipop- a matte bright pink fuchsia
After party- a bright matte cobalt
Midori- a matte bright Kelly green
Tako- a matte true white (one of the best in the biz)
Did I mention they were bright?  Lol

Here is a swatch on MAC NW43 skin:

These swatches are without primer and  the first swipe.  They are the perfect compliment to what you have in your stash.  Don't be afraid to try them and incorporate them into your eye looks.  You won't be sorry.

Buying these three palettes means you own all but one shadow from the brand.  You can't say that about many other brands.  Log on toSugarpillshop.com to order.  Shipping is now $6 for any order under $100.

Try them out and let me know what you think.

Sugar Pill/MAC Blue-green eyeshadow look pictorial/tutorial!!

Hello Angels,

Here's a look I did the other day when the weather finally cooled off!  You may have seen it on our instagram page (follow @drpurple81 for daily makeup, fashion and more!) and as promised here is the how-to step by step guide...

You like??  It's even more vivid in natural light.  Here's the makeup that you will need to complete this look:
Eyes:
Mac Prep + Prime eye in your shade
NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencil in Milk
Sugarpill eyeshadow in Acidberry
MAC eyeshadow in Surf USA
Makeup Forever matte eyeshadow #60
MAC Chromographic pencil in High Def Cyan
MAC Eye Kohl eyeliner in Minted

Lips:
Nars Lip liner in Kenya
MAC lipstick in Peachstock

Cheeks:
MAC skinfinish in stereo rose
NARS blush in Torrid

(some pictured below)

 And now for the steps...

1.  Apply the MAC eyeshadow base all over from lash line to browbone

2.  Apply NYX shadow pencil in Milk, starting with the inner corner of the eyelid. Blend outwards with a concealer brush to a nice even finish.

3.  Apply Acidberry eyeshadow on the inner corner and blend outward towards the outer 1/3 of the eyelid.

4.  Apply Surf's up to the outer 1/3 of the lid, from the first lid crease towards the bottom of the brow bone.

5.  Apply MUFE eyeshadow #60 in the outer corner "v" and blend towards the middle.

6.  Finally you're ready to apply a light matte color to your highlight or brow bone area.  I am obsessed with MAC Bamboo for this purpose.  As long as it's matte it will suffice.

7.  Next comes your colored eyeliners.  These should coordinate with your eyeshadow colors.  First Minted from inner eye corner to halfway point of the lower eyelid:

Then apply High Def Cyan from the midine to the outer corner:

8.  Now you're ready for black eyeliner.  I use a liquid eyeliner made by L'Oreal-- Infallible in black.  It's an awesome felt tip eyeliner that is smooth and great for looks like this where you want a thick, dark and maybe winged line.  Also apply black kohl liner to your waterline or tightline.

9.  Last step is mascara, my fave.  I use Benefit They're Real to get length and volume out of every lash.  You've heard me talk about his mascara ad nauseum by now ;).

Hopefully yours looks a lot like this in daylight:

HAPPY PAINTING!!!!

Sugarpill Heartbreaker Palette Review and swatches!

Hello Angels,

I am back with another palette from Sugarpill.  I've been meaning to review it for a while.  Sugarpill is a brand that I have reviewed before with the Burning Heart Palette.  Their shades are fun, bright and true to color.  Today, I am reviewing the Heart Breaker Palette.

As with all the palettes, there is a cute case and mirror inside.

Here is the inside of palette with the vibrant shades from left to right
Acid berry- matte neon green with slight shimmer
Mochi- matte royal blue
2AM- matte lilac/purple
Velocity- matte sea foam green

Here's the swatches from left to right on NW43 skin with no primer:

Angels I like Sugarpill for those bright colors you find at other brands that lack a good POW!  No tugging, no layering.  Just full on color with every swipe.  If that is what you are looking for, get to their website and order.  The website is www.sugarpill.com.  Delivery is the super low flat rate of five dollars.  These palettes are in high demand so put your information in for them alert you if they are back ordered.  Let us know what you think!

Happy Hauling!!!

Sugarpill Burning Heart Palette

Hello Angels,

Today I am reviewing the Sugarpill Burning Heart Palette.  For those of you who are not familiar Sugarpill is an indie brand with some of the boldest colors in the business.  This palette has four colors and is more than reasonably priced at $34.00 considering the size of the shadows.

I purchased this palette because I had trouble finding a yellow that showed its true color on my skin.  As you can see by the photo, it did its job. ( I used Flamepoint, Buttercupcake and Love+)  The quad contains four colors.  Flamepoint(orange), Buttercupcake(yellow) Love+(red), and Poison Plum(purple).  These shadows are on makeup artists's lists all over the net when they are citing some of their favorite colors.  Please check out the swatches below:

On Sugarpillshop.com you will find two other palettes as well as the shadows in singles. There is also an abundance of loose shadows in different vibrant colors on their site.  In my honest opinion you get a big bang for your buck when purchasing these shadows. I would definitely check them out if I were you.  Please leave some for me!
