Colorful Eye Pencils

Hello Angels,

I am back with a post about my crayons. Lol.  I have many different colored eye pencils.  They come in quite handy when you need a pop of color and don't have time for a full eye look.

I took advantage of the holiday sales at Sephora and at Urban Decay.  I also bought a pencil from MAC I had been eyeing.  They have saved me when I wanted to add a lil kick to a blah look.

Here are the ones I bought:

From left to right:
Smoke-dark gray matte
Sabbath-a creamy dark bluish purple
Chaos-Electric blue

Swatched on NW43 skin:
Left to right-
Sabbath, Smoke and Chaos

Nice right? And that is one swipe. These colors are potent and last for hours.

Here are the second set of Urban Decay Pencils I bought at Sephora:

From left to right:
Psychedelic Sister-vibrant purple with sheen
Freak-neon yellow/green
Goldmine-bright yellow gold

Here are the same pencils from left to right  on NW43 skin:

I love all of these pencils and will be getting more.  They go on and stay on.  Each pencil dries quickly so you must blend or smudge immediately.

I also managed to track down NARS Barrow Street at Sephora.  It was a limited edition pencil.  The color is mint green.  It is matte and true to color.  It might still be available on

Here it is:

Now here we have it swatched on NW43 skin:

I love it for a pop of color in the morning. It is fresh and doesn't say you will be dropping it like its hot later on.  LOL.

Last but not least is this MAC pencil I spied a little while back.  It is called So There Jade.  It is a PowerPoint pencil.  It is a minty/aqua color with some sheen.  This worn on the lower lash line is beautiful.  This is the pencil:

Here is the swatch:

It is richer than the NARS pencil.  I would say it is jewel toned and can be worn by a broader base of skin tones.

Well Angels I can't wait to incorporate these pencils into some looks.  If worn correctly, some of these can be worn to work.  Let me know if you have any of these or are planning to buy some.

Until next time Angels,

MAC Punk Couture

Hello Angels,

For those of you that celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas!  Enjoy the day with your family.  Hopefully this Holiday  Season is full of MAC and Sephora gift cards.

Tomorrow there will be a bunch of after Christmas sales as well as launches for the New Year.  I am most excited about the MAC release tomorrow. It is called Punk Couture.

I am so excited!  Here is the promo pic:

This is just gorgeous.  It is fresh with a punk elegance.  Here is what MAC had to say about their release:

Punk's rebel spirit and revolutionary impact on fashion inspires an exclusively-online collection of hautecore colours, superbly M∙A∙C. Lips and nails attract all the right attention in blackened plums and deep burgundy, while Fluidline and Liquid Eye Liner give intense definition for that daringly gorgeous glare.

They didn't mention the pigments, True Chartreuse, Neon Orange and Magenta Madness.

The lipsticks are dark and matte:

Studded Kiss- oxblood red
Instigator-Deep Blackened Plum
Haute core-matte black
Punk Couture-deep blackened grape

These are the standouts.  I will be getting these for the winter.  I will wear them with a nice blush and a winged eye..

So be on the lookout tomorrow.  These will sell out fast.  I can't wait to get these in my hands.

Let me know if you're interested and if you decide to get anything.

Until next time

Urban Decay Naked Palette 3 Review and Swatches

Hi Angels!

On December 12th the third Naked Palette was released at your local Sephora, Ulta and Macy's department stores.  I snagged mine online as soon as it was available.

This palette is described as a Rosey neutral.  That is the main difference between this and the other palettes.
Stock photo here:

Naked Palette 1 is a bronze based neutral palette.  It is great for those with skin that has warm tones.  It is seen here:

Naked Palette 2 is a Taupe based neutral palette.  It contained more matte colors as well.  I think this is best for people with cool tones.  Here is a pic of Naked Palette 2:

Now that we have been refreshed about the older palettes, let's look at Naked Palette 3.  Here is my palette:

These are the colors from left to right.
1. Strange-matte beige with a pearl sheen.
2. Dust- light pink frost
3. Burnout-pink shimmer
4. Limit-matte nude pink
5. Buzz-medium nude pink frost
6. Trick- frosty rose gold
7. Nooner-medium matte rosy brown
8. Liar-copper shimmer
9. Factory- deep copperyshimmer
10. Mugshot- shimmery taupe
11.Darkside-dark grey taupe
12. Black heart-a matte black with cranberry sparkle.

Here are the swatches on NW 43 skin:

Without flash-

Here are the swatches by four:
Left to right-Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit

Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar

Factory, Mugshot,Darkside,Blackheart

So what do I think?  Well if you have seen  my review of the LORAC unzipped palette then you know this us right up my alley.  This is chock full of beautiful warm neutrals that can be worn everyday.  It is housed in an easy travel case with a double ended brush.  Angels, don't walk, run and get this A.S.A.P.  It compliments the other palettes very well.  I've been asked a lot about whether or not it's worth it to get this palette if you have either of the other two.  My opinion is that this palette contains enough unique colors from the first two to be worth your money.  Take Naked Palette 2 & 3 or 1& 3  on a getaway to have all your bases covered.

I hope this has been helpful to you.  Let us know if you have bought the palette or intend to get it!

Until next time Angels,

White Hot! Celebrity Inspired Holiday Looks

Hi Angels!

We are back to glam in this celebrity inspired look. As the temperatures drop, we know that we always find comfort in wearing black and other dark hues. Well, we want to switch it up this winter, and were inspired by some of the looks Kim Kardashian has made appearances in over the last few weeks. Why not go outside of your comfort zone and wear white for a holiday party to ring in the new year?  We really love the white lace, although we will opt for some less revealing options.  Way to make a statement and rock a winter white!

Here are a few affordable white lace options to make you red carpet ready and recreate the look:

Option 1:

We love this dress, it's fitted, but not too revealing.

Clutch:  Wyatt - Bluefly

Option 2:

Love this dress, with the unexpected cutout, channelling Kim's look pictured above (middle).

Clutch:  Express
Shoes:  Aldo Elphea

Option 3:

Same dress as Option 1 totally changes when you switch the clutch and shoes.  Go ahead and recycle!

Clutch:  Aldo Husul
Shoes:  Aldo Anklam

Isn't it amazing how the accessories can completely change the look?  Here's to looking like a star in 2014!

Happy Holidays!

MAC Heroine Lipstick

Hi Angels,

Look at what the MAC heads are excited about today:

Heroine lipstick is back and will be permanent in January.  What's the big deal you ask?  Well this Matte Purple lipstick has been selling out since it's premier.

Here is what MAC cosmetics has to say about the relaunching:
The powerful purple of Heroine Lipstick is back - so you can now get the breakout fan favourite from M∙A∙C Fashion Sets any time you like. This vibrant matte is now available exclusively online. In stores permanently this January.

Still don't understand the hype?  Well let me introduce you to heroine if you haven't met.
Here it is swatched on NW43 skin color:

This is both the lipstick and lipgloss which were available in the fashion sets collection.  A lip pencil was part of that collection as well.  A good dupe for it is MAC magenta.

Here is another picture of the lipstick and lipgloss in there tubes:

If we were in court Angels I would rest my case right here.  You have received enough evidence to be convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that this lipstick is a must have.

It is currently available on line at

Bordeaux and Bling Holiday Party Look

Hello again Angels!

Back with some more outfit inspiration for the holidays.  Our last post was oh-so-fab and didn't hold back on the glamour.  If you missed it, check it out here.
So, we wanted to be sure to follow up with something a little more tame for those social settings where you may want to dress to impress but keep it simple (read:  you significant other's boss' Christmas party!)
For this look, it's head to toe bordeaux (also known as burgundy, oxblood, etc).  Blush pairs so beautifully with this hue, so we couldn't resist topping it off with this Zara blazer.  And let's not forget the megawatt bling on the ears,  neck and in hand to really make things festive.

We would love to hear your questions and comments below.  Hope you like!
Until next time,
Happy Holidays!

Holiday Party Glam!!!

Hello Angels,

With Christmas and NYE fast approaching, we Pretty Prescribers know you will be wracking your brains and tearing through your closets looking for something chic to wear to all those parties that you've been invited to.
Here, we've created a look built around this amazing skirt (center) from Top Shop at Nordstrom:

Black Portofino blouse: Express, Only $35.94.
Via Spiga caged platform sandal booties: Bloomingdale's
Black embossed python clutch: Gigi New York
Kenneth Jay Lane emerald drop earrings: Amazon
Tassel Necklace:  J. Crew (pictured sold out), similar here.  Can also easily find on eBay!
Faux fur bolero: Nordstrom
UrbanDecay24/7 eyeliner in Goldmine: Sephora

A skirt this amazing with such eye-catching detail needs to be paired with relatively simpler details.  You want to look glamourous, not tacky and overdone!  If you're going for serious glam we like this faux fur jacket in lieu of a regular dress coat.  The classic jewels and clutch add refined, on-trend yet understated touches to this overall glam outfit.
And of course don't forget the makeup!  We love the many ways you can use eyeliner to instantly (and easily) glam up your makeup look without much fuss.  Urban decay's 24/7 pencil in Goldmine, applied in a thin line just above regular black eyeliner will draw lots of attention to your eyes all night.  For more info on different eyeliners that will also pair really well with this look, check out this post.

We hope you like it and maybe are inspired to pull pieces from your closet that you already own to re-create this look!  Please share your thoughts, questions and ideas in the comments.

Until next time,
Happy Holidays!
