Maybelline The Expert Wear Palette-The Nudes

Hi Angels,

Sometimes in blogging about makeup we forget about some of out drugstore heavy hitters.  One of these products is Maybelline's new release, The Nudes palette.  In the land of High end nude palettes, this was a welcome surprise.  Do we need to mention the price point?  I purchased mine for $9.99.  Let's take a look at this gem:

This is the black slim case.
Here us a better look at the colors with some swatches:

This is with a slight swatch.  With a primer the colors are more true to the palette shade and stay on for hours.

Here is a look I created using the palette:

I was quite pleased with the color choices and ease of use.  All in all this is a good purchase. The twelve shades allow for a great deal of different looks. With mattes and shimmers all your nude bases are covered. This palette is for those of us who want the nude look without breaking the bank

So what do you think Angels?  Are you in need of a nude palette?  Have you seen the palette at your neighborhood drugstore?  Have you already purchased it?  Let us know what you think.

Unit next time Angels,

What's Buzzin' in the blogosphere!

Hi Angels,

I just wanted to let you know about some of the news items causing a buzz in the blogosphere.
Anastasia has teamed up with Makeup artist Amrezy to bring you an eyeshadow palette.  It contains neutrals and vibrant pops of color. The buzz has been positive.  This palette comes with a brush and is available for $29 at AnastasiaBeverlyHills.com and exclusively at Ulta stores.  Here it is pictured below courtesy of Ulta.

The next items are from Stila Cosmetics. The first one is their new mascara.  It is called Mile High Lashes.  The brand says that the sky is the limit for length, lift and volume. It is pictured below.(courtesy of stilacosmetics.com)

Their other release is in the lip region.  Stila has released what they believe is a new generation in metal makeup.  These beauties pictured below are called the magnificent metals lip glosses. They are lip lacquers with a cutting ede multi-dimensional finish. They are available wherever Stila is sold for $23.00.

The last product is from the geniuses at Lancome.  The leaders in mascara have done it again.  All other brands have been put on notice. LOL.  Grandiose mascara was released last week by the brand powerhouse.  Everything from the ad, the packaging and the mascara itself is innovative. Have a look at these pics courtesy of Lancome.

Here is a close up of the mascara: this is actually the shadow of the package.

Lastly we have a close up of the mascara and wand.
The patented swan neck wand allows for application in many different directions with the greatest of ease. This beauty is sold for $32.00 wherever Lancome is sold.

So what do we think Angels?  Are any of these worth a look?  Have you purchased any of these items?  Let us know what you think?

Until next time Angels,

Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner

Hi Angels,

The web and Instagram have been abuzz the past few weeks about Benefit's new product.  It's their gel liner in a pen form. They say it's revolutionary because it's a gel and the color/formula is matte black.  The special tip is supposed to enable the user to easily line your eyes close to the lash.

Here is a pic courtesy of Benefit and Instagram:

I was fortunate to order this beauty from HSN and Sephora before it is released at the end if the month.  Ulta is having a preview event today. Some were able to get them at a Benefit event even before that. I will review it as soon as I get it.

So Angels, has anyone received the new liner already?  What do you think?  Are you thinking of getting it?  Let us know.

Until next time Angels,

Urban Decay Naked Palette 3 Review and Swatches

Hi Angels!

On December 12th the third Naked Palette was released at your local Sephora, Ulta and Macy's department stores.  I snagged mine online as soon as it was available.

This palette is described as a Rosey neutral.  That is the main difference between this and the other palettes.
Stock photo here:

Naked Palette 1 is a bronze based neutral palette.  It is great for those with skin that has warm tones.  It is seen here:

Naked Palette 2 is a Taupe based neutral palette.  It contained more matte colors as well.  I think this is best for people with cool tones.  Here is a pic of Naked Palette 2:

Now that we have been refreshed about the older palettes, let's look at Naked Palette 3.  Here is my palette:

These are the colors from left to right.
1. Strange-matte beige with a pearl sheen.
2. Dust- light pink frost
3. Burnout-pink shimmer
4. Limit-matte nude pink
5. Buzz-medium nude pink frost
6. Trick- frosty rose gold
7. Nooner-medium matte rosy brown
8. Liar-copper shimmer
9. Factory- deep copperyshimmer
10. Mugshot- shimmery taupe
11.Darkside-dark grey taupe
12. Black heart-a matte black with cranberry sparkle.

Here are the swatches on NW 43 skin:

Without flash-

Here are the swatches by four:
Left to right-Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit

Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar

Factory, Mugshot,Darkside,Blackheart

So what do I think?  Well if you have seen  my review of the LORAC unzipped palette then you know this us right up my alley.  This is chock full of beautiful warm neutrals that can be worn everyday.  It is housed in an easy travel case with a double ended brush.  Angels, don't walk, run and get this A.S.A.P.  It compliments the other palettes very well.  I've been asked a lot about whether or not it's worth it to get this palette if you have either of the other two.  My opinion is that this palette contains enough unique colors from the first two to be worth your money.  Take Naked Palette 2 & 3 or 1& 3  on a getaway to have all your bases covered.

I hope this has been helpful to you.  Let us know if you have bought the palette or intend to get it!

Until next time Angels,
Happy Haulin'!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

Hi Angels,

Psssssst, come in close.  I have some news for you.  One of our favorite brands, Urban Decay is coming out with a new palette.  It is Naked 3.  That is all the info you will find on Urban Decay.  This is on their website:

Luckily I am up at the wee hours of the morning and able to some snooping.  Looks like Sephora in France made a faux pas and released the palette early.  So some French bloggers have the palette already.  Gasp and sad face.

Here is a pic I was able to find:

They got on the good foot and made a warm palette with rosy tones.  Looks even warmer than my LORAC Unzipped palette which I love.  And since I don't have Naked 2, Naked 3 will be mine.  It will be available at the end of the month on Urban Decay's website.  Sephora, Ulta and Macy's should get in time for the Holidays.

Are you getting this palette?  Let us know if you will and when you do.

Until next time Angels

Urban Decay Vice Palette 2

Hello Angels,

I am afraid I have to apologize to you. I realize I bought the Urban Decay Vice Palette and I didn't give you all a review.

Pssssst, that's not all. Come closer.  Urban Decay has just released Vice 2.  It contains 20 new colors for all us makeup junkies.  Here's a pic for you:
If it is anything like the first one, the shadows are pigmented with great color payoff.  I look forward to taking a look and swatching the shades.  I will review it  if I decide to buy it.  You can purchase it at your local Macy's, Ulta or sephora.  It can of course be purchased at Urban Decay.com.

Let me know if you see it, like it or better yet , buy it.

Until next time

Stila Countless Color Pigments!

Hello Angels,

I am back with a review of my last Sephora haul.  Sephora is like a candy store for a makeup addict like myself.  When you visit you almost always find a gem.  On my last visit I swatched the Stila Countless Color Pigments.  I instantly fell in love with the color combinations and pigmentation of each pressed pigment .

I made a mental note to purchase them when I returned.  While shopping online I found that they were 31% off.  I purchased all the colors they had.  Here are the shadows.

From: top to bottom and left to right:
Indie, Tie Dye, Melody
Finale, Lyric, Center Stage
Light Show, Acoustic, Groupie

Swatches all blended together by row on NW 43 skin(without primer

Indie-light pink, pink and fuchsia
Tie Dye- turquoise, blue and purple
Melody- pink, light purple and purple

Finale-orange, yellow and reddish pink
Lyric- yellow, orange and pink
Center Stage- yellow/orange, pink and sky blue

Light show-yellow/gold, blue, dark blue green
Acoustic-rust,red, brown and copper
Groupie- beige, copper and brown

The colors can be used individually or swirled together as shown.  You are able to get a lid, crease and highlight out of almost all of the shadows.  On those days when you are pressed for time that is just what the Doctor ordered.

The shadows are still available on Stila.com.and  sephora.com.  On Ulta.com. stock is limited.  All three sites have different stock.  There are ten in all.  I am going to order a color called Encore which is a pink, beige and brown mix.  This is available only on the Stila site.

If you happen to see them in store they are worth a glance and swatch.  Check them out for yourself.  Let me know how you like them.

Until next time
Happy Haulin'
